Aaron Ramsey ignored Gareth Bale's advice on where he should play next. Gareth Bale attempted to lure Wales team-mate Aaron Ramsey to Real Madrid, it has been claimed.
The Arsenal midfielder is out of contract in the summer and looks set to join Juventus on a free transfer.
Ramsey joined Arsenal in 2008 and has featured 354 times for the north Londoners, winning three FA Cups.
The Gunners had been negotiating a new deal with the midfielder but discussions broke down over a stand off in pay.
Despite the 25-year-old playing 25 games under Unai Emery so far this season, the Spaniard seems content with letting him go.
Juventus are leading the chase for the midfielder with some reports suggesting a deal has already been struck.
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the midfielder, and according to BBC Sport so were Real Madrid.
It is understood Bale tried to persuade his Wales team-mate to join him in Spain. However, the midfielder appears to have opted for Italy instead.
Speaking about the midfielder in his press conference on Thursday, Emery said: "I say to him everyday that we need his performance for us.
"And I was very happy with him in the last match. He asked in Blackpool to play, he said: 'Coach, I want to play'.
"His future is for him, his family and his agent. But every day in training he is working very well.
"I want his focus to be on us, and to be on West Ham on Saturday. I respect his decision a lot."
