Fabinho admits centre-back weakness to work on before Liverpool v Crystal Palace. Fabinho insists he's happy to be the man turned to during Liverpool's defensive injury issues, but knows he has an aspect of his centre-back game he needs to improve on.
The Brazilian has started each of Liverpool's last two games in the centre of the Reds' defence following injuries to Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and more recently Dejan Lovren.
The Croatian was forced off in the opening stages of the Reds' FA Cup third round defeat to Wolves , which saw the introduction of 16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever.
But Fabinho impressed alongside both him at Molinuex and Virgil van Dijk in Saturday's 1-0 win over Brighton at the Amex Stadium, where Matip was fit enough to make the bench.
Despite his return, Fabinho could still keep his place for Saturday's visit of Crystal Palace to Anfield, where Liverpool will expect to dominate possession and the Brazilian will be looked to in order to help play the ball into midfield.
And he seems happy to play there, despite admitting one weakness.
"In the last game against Brighton, I think I played well," he told the Liverpool website .
"Playing alongside Van Dijk helped, he’s really vocal, he guided us. He helped me a lot. I had good communication with Trent (Alexander-Arnold) and also with Hendo (Jordan Henderson); they were the players closest to me on the pitch.
“In general, I think it was a good game. In this position, which I haven’t played in a lot, I think I adapted well. There are some aspects, such as positioning, that I need to improve on.
“If I were to play in this position more, I’d improve on these things, but that’s natural.”
